It was declared Dr. Maya Angelou Day in Washington, D.C. by DC Mayor Adrian Fenty and the Council of the District of Columbia. We were honored to host Dr. Angelou’s 80th birthday celebration and recognize the achievements of our students at this year’s “Year of the Phenomenal Woman” celebration on May 9, 2008 at the historic Lincoln Theatre in Washington, D.C. You can continue to celebrate Dr. Maya Angelou Day by making a special contribution in honor of our school’s namesake, her 80th birthday and the phenomenal achievements of our students.
