SFF & MAPCS Welcomes New Board Members
As the See Forever Foundation expands its operations to serve more youth in the District of Columbia, it is pleased to welcome new members to the SFF and Maya Angelou Public Charter Schools board of directors. We welcome the following new board members:
- Fred L. Bollerer, who recently retired as a partner at Venture Philanthropy Partners
- Gertrude M. Eaton, former Associate Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs for the University of Maryland
- Joan Rector McGlockton, founding director of the Sodexho Foundation and former senior vice president of Sodexho, Inc.
- Stacey Miller, Director of External Affairs for the Washington Ballet
- Ellen Folts, Executive Director of the Leonsis Foundation, who transitioned from the MAPCS Board to the SFF Board.
- Rev. Justus Reeves, Director of Christian Education for Parker Memorial Baptist Church
SFF Board Chair David Domenici said that “The commitment of each of these new board members to offer their acumen, expertise and talent to support the programs and services of the Maya Angelou Public Charter School community; particularly during a time of rapid growth and development, is unparalleled and we are thrilled that they have all been elected to join the board team.
We welcome these new board members as we stand at the precipice of our new phase of organizational development!
SFF New Staff Spotlight
Ingrid Padgett, Director of Development
After an extensive search, SFF is pleased to welcome Ingrid Padgett to the team. Ingrid joins the staff following her tenure as the Director of Membership Development and Affiliate Relations with the Black Women’s Health Imperative (Imperative). Ingrid brings nearly 20 years of work in fundraising as well as marketing and communications to SFF and has a proven track record of creative and successful development strategies. Starting in the nick of time – just days before the tenth annual “Cooking Up a Future” fundraiser – Ingrid has immersed herself into her new role.
Throughout her career, Ingrid has worked to assist organizations to strategically move beyond traditional fund development programs to more diverse revenue streams and to develop the infrastructure to support programmatic goals and fundraising activities. Ingrid remarked, “I am pleased to have joined the SFF & MAPCS community; particularly during this important stage of organizational growth.”
Padgett is the recipient of the 1998 Executive Leadership Foundation Award for Excellence in Business Commentary and was awarded the 2005 Associations Advance America Award of Excellence from the American Society of Association Executives. Previously, she served as the Director of the Membership Services Division of the National Medical Association and had a distinguished tenure of service with the National League of Cities. A native of Savannah, GA, she currently resides in Fort Washington, MD with her husband and teen son. |
