Maya Angelou students out pace their peers and improve academically at rates that far exceed their prior pace of learning.

At the Maya Angelou Public Charter High School

During the 2016-2017 academic year:

    • 70% of students reached growth targets in Math and Reading
    • 75% of graduates are enrolled in post-secondary or in workforce
    • Over 40% of students with a history of truancy and absence were reengaged.
 

At The Young Adult Learning Center

During the 2016-2017 academic year:

    • 91.3% of students obtained a secondary credential
    • Having the 2nd highest GED subject test participation rate, 85% of our students passed their GED subject tests
    • 68% of students exited a workforce program with the relevant credential
 

At the Maya Angelou Academy

During the 2015-2016 academic year:

On average, students improved 2.57 years in reading and 1.70 years in math

On average, students earned credits at a 91% rate

  • 84% of our scholars achieved mastery in English classes
  • 77% of our scholars achieved mastery in Math classes
  • 76% of our scholars achieved mastery in Science classes
  • 79% of our scholars achieved mastery in Social Studies classes
