In 2004, the See Forever Foundation dedicated its second campus, the MAPCS-Evans High School Campus. The campus is located in a District of Columbia Public Schools (DCPS) facility located east of the Anacostia River in Ward 7 of Washington, D.C. Our school?s core expertise is integrating all of the support services that at-risk students need to become self-sustaining adults into a comprehensive school program that emphasizes college and career readiness programming. With over 15 years of experience working in urban education and serving at-risk youth, we know the power that a comprehensive program can have on lives of young people needing a second chance to succeed.
At Maya Angelou PCS, students learn from a relevant and rigorous academic curriculum and receive wraparound supports including:
- Mental health counseling and support,
- After-school tutoring and enrichment programming,
- College and career transition planning,
- Paid employment training opportunities
- Residential program for a select amount of students
As a result of this program design, students with significant educational and emotional needs improve their grades, graduate from high school, and attend college or specialized career training programs.
Maya Angelou Public Charter High School is proud to offer FREE breakfast and lunch to all our high school students. We strive to serve quality food that exceeds the requirements of the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act (2010). Breakfast is served daily from 8:45 – 9:30 AM. Lunch is served from 11:20-11:50 AM (first lunch) and 12:50 – 1:20 (second lunch). Students are assigned to one of these two time slots. See the links below for the current month’s menus.
